Britain’s Top Court Nixes Plan to Send Migrants to Africa

U.K. Supreme Court says Rwanda isn’t safe for asylum seekers, complicating plans by other European countries

LONDON—A U.K. plan to send some migrants who arrive illegally to live in Rwanda suffered a setback after a top court said the central African country isn’t a safe place to house asylum seekers.

The ruling scuttles Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s marquee policy to curb migration and offers a warning to other European nations considering similar plans.
