James Hookway is a senior publishing editor at The Wall Street Journal.

He has been writing for the Journal for nearly 25 years. For much of that time he was based in Southeast Asia, where he covered political upheavals and business trends from the Philippines and across Indonesia and Vietnam to Thailand and Myanmar. He wrote extensively about the rise of al-Qaeda affiliates in the region and the growing influence of tech and new outsourcing industries.

More recently James has been reporting from Europe, where also helps manage the Journal’s world news coverage across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
