Juan Montes

Juan Montes is a correspondent in The Wall Street Journal's Mexico City bureau, covering Mexico and Central America. He writes frequently about politics, government corruption, crime and migration. He also does investigative reporting.

Juan's work has exposed corruption scandals and shown how local governments have often failed to tackle the region's main problems: impunity and inequality. Juan was born in Madrid. Before joining the Journal, he was a starving reporter in Spain and Guatemala.
