Rajesh Roy is a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, covering diplomacy, defense, business, technology and political stories from India. Based out of the Journal's South Asia bureau in New Delhi, he brings over two decades of experience in reporting on the country’s biggest stories.

In his politics coverage, he scored two rare interviews with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His recent reporting also includes stories about India’s use of drones on its Himalayan border, the country’s digital payments boom, the decline of the storied Congress Party, and tech-titan Apple’s expansion.

Previously he worked with Dow Jones Newswires and Press Trust of India in Delhi, and the Hindustan Times in his hometown Ranchi, covering a gamut of stories relating to business, commodities and policy.
