Summer Said is a correspondent covering energy and Saudi Arabia from The Wall Street Journal's Middle East bureau. Her stories often cover the connection between oil and the region's geopolitics. She has also written several investigative political and business stories on Saudi Arabia. She has covered the Middle East for two decades from more than ten countries.

Summer joined the Journal in 2009 to cover the Persian Gulf from Dubai. She later relocated to Saudi Arabia to cover politics, energy and business, before returning to Dubai in 2012 for her current role. Summer is from Egypt and began her career as a political reporter covering Islamist groups and human rights and graduated with an arts and English literature degree from Cairo University.
