Tripti Lahiri is South Asia bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal, overseeing a team of reporters covering business, politics and technology stories across the region.

Previously she was Asia editor for Quartz, leading a team focused on China and Hong Kong.

Before that she reported on a range of stories from The Journal's New Delhi bureau, including violence against women in India and garment factory disasters in Bangladesh, and helped found the paper's India blog.

She is also the author of "Maid in India," about migration and inequality in India.
